About HERO K9 Antique Search and Rescue Unit
ANTIQUE K9 Search and Rescue Unit was established on August 20, 2021 through the brilliant initiative of BOARD MEMBER LCDR. PIO JESSIELITO SUMANDE SR. (PCGA) and with the support of PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD headed by former COMMANDANT ADMIRAL GEORGE V. URSABIA (PCG), COMMODORE ALAIN DALANGIN (PCG) Western Visayas District Commander, COMMODORE HOSTILITO CORNELIO (PCG ) former Station Commander (CGS Antique) LCDR. NOEL RAMOS (PCG) DEP, Station Commander (CGS Antique) SCPO. ALLAN MANDADO (PCG). And of course with the help of PCGK9 GROUP SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER ENS ARIEL P GOMEZ PN ,PCG (Ret) and MSGT JOE C MONTELIZA PN,(M)Ret.
The purpose of this program is to help the Province of Antique even in a small little way and just the same with the nearby provinces who are in need of our services will be cater too.
The Province of Antique is in the center of seas and mountains that are vulnerable in any forms of calamities such as landslides, floods, tidal waves, and even tsunami.
It's better prepared than sorry!

Search and Rescue
Search and rescue dogs are a type of working dog used to locate missing individuals after natural disasters and mass-casualty incidents. Dedicated handlers and well-trained dogs are required. Search and rescue dogs are typically worked by a small team on foot.
Explosives Detection
A detection dog or sniffer dog is a dog that is trained to use its senses to detect substances such as explosives, illegal drugs, wildlife scat, currency, blood, and contraband electronics such as illicit mobile phones.
Basic Obedience
Basic obedience training includes teaching a dog: 1) recall training 2) sitting 3) walking or heeling training and 4) staying training 4) sociability training.
